How BigBookPrices ranks results
The project uses observable catalogue and price evidence, not retailer payments or popularity claims.
Search
Exact ISBN matches are strongest. Otherwise the catalogue uses title, series, creator and edition metadata relevance through the implemented search matcher. There is no user-demand or popularity score.
Browse
Browse supports Title (alphabetical), Recent (newest catalogue records) and Price (lowest known book price first), plus format and text filters.
Retailer offers
Offers with FULLY_COMPARABLE known delivered totals rank first by lower delivered total. PARTIAL and UNKNOWN offers remain visible but cannot falsely win on an invented delivered total. Unknown shipping is never treated as zero.
Homepage shelves
Biggest discounts use the current observed price against an exposed RRP/reference price. New arrivals use catalogue creation time. Price drops require a previous PriceObservation. Preorders use the retailer availability/preorder state.
Independence
No retailer pays to influence ranking. BigBookPrices currently has no sponsored results, paid inclusion, advertising or affiliate commission.
